Volunteers are vital to the success of the Festival! We rely on almost 300 individuals over the course of Set-up Day and Race Day to pull off Montgomery’s biggest summer outdoor fundraising event in the City. Interested? Volunteer positions

Athlete’s Hospitality Tent

Site Captain: TBA

Volunteers in the Athlete's Hospitality Tent are responsible for keeping refreshments cold and available for athletes. 5 gallon Powerade coolers need to stay full and iced. Dasani water bottles need to be on ice in Coca Cola ice bins. Trash needs to be cleaned up off of sitting areas. Any donated food will be distributed throughout the day. Replenish ice as needed


Start Dock Volunteers

Site Captain: TBA

Responsible for securing boats at their starting positions. Volunteers will be transported via SeaDoo to a 4’x4’ floating dock at the start line.


Dock Marshalls

Site Captain: TBA

Responsible for securing boats to the dock for loading and unloading of teams. They also need to be aware of crowd control; only those about to load or have just unloaded from a boat are to be on the dock.


Team Marshalls

Site Captain: TBA

Responsible for lining up team, getting equipment for teams, and leading teams to the dock. Each team will lineup with their crew in order of their loading number before heading down to the docks.


Results Runners

Results runners are in charge of posting race results and schedule to the race board. Runners will deliver results to the stage periodically throughout the day.


Information Tent

Site Captain: TBA

Responsible for greeting and directing festival-goers, distributing of Festival information, and selling commemorative t-shirts. Volunteers will distribute Festival Guides to incoming spectators.


Children's Village
Site Captain: tba

Responsible for monitoring children's area including inflatables, face paint etc. Report any issues regarding child safety to MFD and MDB staff. Assist Bridge Builder students with face painting.


Team Check-in
Site Captain: tba

Responsible for checking in all teams, distributing team's Festival shirts, and handing over team wristbands to captains.


Volunteer Check In Tent

Site Captain: TBA

Responsible for volunteer hospitality and checking in volunteers. Volunteers need to pass out volunteer t-shirts and direct incoming volunteers to their locations in the park. Communicate with volunteer captains to determine needs throughout the day.



At the conclusion of the Festival, clean up volunteers will be in charge of breaking down, packing, and cleaning up specific areas inside the park. This will include packing up tents and coolers, collecting banners, moving sandbags, and moving tables and chairs.
