Last year, almost 70 teams filled Athlete's Village and "pulled together" on the beautiful downtown stretch of the Alabama River in the 3rd annual Montgomery Dragon Boat Race and Festival!

On August 24, 2013, the largest community Dragon Boat event east of the Mississippi River promises to be even bigger, with more teams, exhibitors, and stage entertainment!

To participate in the Montgomery Dragon Boat Race and Festival, a team should have between 21 and 26 crew members. 21 will be in the boat at any one time, 20 paddlers and one drummer. Please note: at least 8 of your crew MUST be females! The minimum age for crew members is 16, but participants under the age of 19 MUST have a parent- or guardian- signed waiver to be able to paddle.

All crew members must sign a waiver when registering. Waivers are provided in the registration process on the FirstGiving page for this event, and are also available here.

Each team can have two practices, and each crew member is required to participate in at least one practice to be able to paddle on Race Day. More information on practices can be found here.
