Fundraising Information

 

Who does the Montgomery Dragon Boat Race & Festival benefit?
The festival is organized by and raises money for two local charities: Bridge Builders® Alabama and Rebuilding Together Central Alabama. Teams have the opportunity to collect pledges above and beyond their team’s registration fee. Every festival participant is encouraged to raise $50 over their share of the registration fee. 

 

How much has the Festival raised in the past?
In the last two years, the festival has generated over $100,000 in direct financial support for Rebuilding Together Central Alabama and Bridge Builders Alabama.

 

Are all donations tax deductible?

Yes! All funds donated or raised are tax deductible. 

 

What are the fundraising expectations after the initial registration

fee has been paid?

This event is an incredibly important source of funding for the organizing charities (Rebuilding Together Central Alabama and Bridge Builders Alabama). For this reason, we encourage  every participant to set a fundraising goal and do their best to meet it. The top fundraising team in 2010, the Episcopaddlers, raised nearly $4,000.

 

We especially encourage those participants whose registration fee has been paid by their employer or a sponsor to make the most of this fundraising opportunity.

 

 

What tools does the festival provide to help participants raise fund?
The festival offers teriffic online fundraising tools at FirstGiving.com. Anyone can easily create their own personalized fundraising page.

 

 

What do I do with off-line contributions? 
The Montgomery Dragon Boat Race and Festival no longer accepts off-line crew registration fees or fundraising contributions.  Please use our FirstGiving website for all donations.
